North West Conservation Plan available on BGIS

30 April 2012

mediumSANBI’s Biodiversity Information Management Directorate has uploaded the North West Conservation Plan to its Biodiversity GIS (BGIS) website.

One of the final outputs from the conservation plan was a Critical Biodiversity Area (CBA) map. The CBA map is intended to act as the biodiversity sector’s input into multi-sectoral plans and assessments. The CBA map is aligned with national standards for bioregional plans in terms of terminology and methods.

The North West Conservation Plan is available from the website at the following url: http://bgis.sanbi.org/northwest/project.asp

Questions regarding the use of the BGIS site, should be directed to bgishelp@sanbi.org.za.
