Kirstenbosch NBG Biodiversity Education and Empowerment Programme

The history of environmental education in the Kirstenbosch NBG has a history that stretches back as far as the 1920’s. Since the opening of the Gold Fields Environmental Education Centre within the Garden in 1996, the programme has steadily grown while remaining dynamic and keeping pace with both national and international trends in environmental education theory and practice.
