Two exhibitions are being planned for the 2011-2012 financial year. These will aim to increase the public’s awareness of biodiversity issues, SANBI’s work in general and the Biodiversity Education and Empowerment Directorate’s work in particular.
Careers Programme

Traditionally, the careers programme at Kirstenbosch NBG involves participating in the Kirstenbosch Biodiversity Careers Expo as well as the University of Cape Town’s Science Career Day.
In the future, this programme will be expanded to include:
- workshops for educators based on biodiversity careers
- closer liaison with tertiary institutions about the dissemination of biodiversity careers information; and
- open days where learners can engage with a range of SANBI staff members about the various biodiversity careers.
