GARDEN GUIDED WALKS  

Medicinal garden walks

General guided walks as well as guided tours of our Medicinal Garden can be arranged for groups. Please contact Khangela Baloyi for further information or to make arrangements at tel: (012) 843 5194 or fax: (012) 843 5103 or Email: baloyij@sanbi.org .

Normal entry fees apply during office hours on weekdays (Monday to Friday 08:30 – 16:00). On weekends an additional fee will be charged.

Guided walks can be arranged for groups (maximum of 20 people).
Normal entrance fee is payable, plus donations towards Garden Development Fund are welcome.

Botanical art drawing courses 2009

The South African National Biodiversity Institute (SANBI) will run three botanical art drawing courses at the National Herbarium in Pretoria in 2009.

Thursday 05 – Saturday 07 February 2009
Thursday 19 – Saturday 21 February 2009
Thursday 25 – Saturday 27 June 2009
Thursday 22 – Saturday 24 October2009

Further dates in 2009 will be decided on if there is a demand.

Venue : The National Herbarium Lecture Hall, Pretoria Botanical Gardens,
2 Cussonia Avenue, Brummaria, Pretoria .

Cost: R600.00
Times: 1st day 9.30 for 10.00 - 16.30
2nd and 3rd day 9.00 - 16.30

Presenter: The courses will be presented by Gillian Condy, the resident botanical artist at the National Herbarium. She has held this position for 25 years and is an experienced teacher. Gillian is one of the founders of the Botanical Artists Association of southern Africa , BAASA and is an active freelance artist, having participated in over 95 group exhibitions worldwide. Her contribution to botanical art has been acknowledged by numerous awards.
